Elizabethton
Women's Golf Association
Welcome,
all area and visiting lady golfers! We hope you will
become a member of our association in you live in the
area or will play a round of golf at our beautiful course,
if you are a visitor to our area! Our course is challenging,
but very fair to lady golfers. I am sure you will appreciate
the wonderful condition of the Elizabethton Municipal
Golf Course and you will find the "red" tees
are as meticulously maintained as the other tees on
the course.
The
Elizabethton Women's Golf Association (EWGA) meets every
Tuesday morning from the 1st Tuesday in April until
the last Tuesday in October. Tee times are usually scheduled
for 10 a.m. in April - May and then 9 a.m. in June -
September. October tee times are set on a weekly basis
(9 a.m./10 a.m.) depending on the weather.
EWGA
currently has 23 members. A golfer DOES NOT have to
be a member of EGC to be a member of our association.
You can pay on a weekly basis to play in the league
on Tuesdays (current rate: $16.00/round, including cart).
Membership Dues: $20.00.
Our
golfers have handicaps ranging from 12 to 40, so all
skill levels are welcome! Every week, we decide on a
"game", and this keeps the level of fun up
and gives all levels of skill opportunity to win weekly
prizes! Once a season, we play an "away" course.
We have a Memorial Tournament (handicapped, with net
score winning) in honor and remembrance of past members
no longer living. We end our season play with a 2 week
Championship Tournament, flighted for handicaps earned
over the season's play.
While
not officially determined yet by the USGA official,
the following represents the handicapping for the 18
holes, based on play from red tees:
